Gabriel Jesus has explained why he is leaving Manchester City for Arsenal as the Brazilian striker is tired of manager Josep Guardiola’s demands.

Jesus said: “It was about how Guardiola understands football and what he wants. Then it’s up to you whether to accept it or not. If you don’t accept it, he turns to other players. For a while I accepted it, but the moment came when I said: “I want.” One more thing for myself. I thanked him, he understood me, and we moved on. Here at Arsenal it’s different. Football is different, different players and different ways of playing.”

He added: “It was different at City. The striker barely touched the ball, as you can see from watching games. And when it came time to touch the ball, he was not a striker. So I decided to change. I talked a lot with Michael Arteta about Arsenal’s style. He knows me. and I understood what he wants from me. Now I’m free on the field, playing football with a smile on my face and trying to do my best all the time.”
