The Danish cyclist Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) won the fifth stage of the Tour of Croatia this Saturday, take the lead in the individual general of the race, in which he had already triumphed in the third round.
The champion of this year’s Tour de France, returns to competition after two months off, since the consecration in the Tour, and completed the 154 kilometers between Opatija and Labin in 3:46.04 hours.
The Dane again prevailed, at the finish line, against the 19-year-old Briton Oscar Onley (DSM), who was second and stood out in the race, with the Slovenian Matej Mohoric (Bahrain-Victorious) third, two seconds behind.
Overall, Vingegaard he has an eight-second lead over his peers on the podiumwith Onley still in second place and Mohoric in third.
On Sunday, the sixth and final stage will link Sveta Nedelja to Zagreb, over a distance of 158 kilometres.
