German player Marc-André ter Stegen spoke after Barcelona beat Mallorca 1-0 in the domestic league, noting that the win put pressure on rivals Real Madrid.

Barça temporarily climbed to the top of the League after beating Real Mallorca 1-0.

“This victory will help us get through some very difficult weeks,” Stegen told the Spanish newspaper Marca.

“They had some chances, but we did enough to win here, the fatigue was noticeable.”

Stegen managed to beat his previous record of 499 minutes without conceding a goal in La Liga matches, and after today’s meeting it reached 534 minutes.

He commented: “The record is not as important as the victory, it gives me confidence, but these victories give momentum, these matches give us life, they keep the pressure on Real Madrid.

He concluded by saying: “We must continue to improve both on a personal and collective level, I do everything to give my 100% in matches.”
