Algeria and Morocco are vying for the right to host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after it was withdrawn from Guinea.

CAF President Patrice Motsepe announced at a press conference that the nomination door is open to countries wishing to host the 2025 edition, stressing that Guinea is not ready to host the tournament.

For his part, Algerian Youth and Sports Minister Abderrazak Sebakk announced his country’s candidacy to host the final of the continental championship instead of Guinea before the start of the African Cup of Nations draw for local players, scheduled in Algiers.

He added that the country’s president had assured Mosebi that Algeria could organize any African demonstration and that Algeria’s capacity would be “sufficient.”

On the other hand, the Moroccan website Hesport, citing an official source in the Moroccan Football Association, said that the Kingdom intends to submit its candidacy to host the upcoming African Cup of Nations final in 2025.

It pointed out that there was every chance for Morocco to receive the organization of a copy after the next one from CAN, given a number of considerations that were in the interest of the Moroccan cause.
