Radio New Zealand announced that Canada has completed the renovation and modernization of another New Zealand Navy Anzac-class ship.
According to available information, the ship modification is subject to agreements signed by New Zealand with Canadian companies, in which the New Zealand government agreed to allocate $ 446 million in 2014 to modify two Anzac- its ship type. and Canadian firm Lockheed Martin Canada was selected for this purpose and an additional $ 148 million was allocated in 2017 after it was decided to equip two ships with CMS 330 guidance and control systems.
As part of the modernization and innovation process, new tracking systems, sonar and radar equipment were purchased for two New Zealand ships, and the RIM-7 Sea Sparrow missile systems on them were replaced by modern Sea Zeptor system.
It should be noted that the two ships mentioned were built in Canada for the New Zealand Army in 1997 and 1999, and each ship had a displacement of approximately 3600 tons and a length of 118 meters each. Move to 27 knots and bring a crew of 178 to 6,000 knots per mission.
