With temperatures that can reach 32º in some regions of the continent, the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA), this Thursday put twelve municipalities in the districts of Faro, Portalegre, Santarém and Castelo Branco at maximum risk of fire.
The IPMA forecasts clear or cloudy skies and an increase in temperature, especially in the highs and on the west coast. The thermometers will oscillate between 8 degrees Celsius (in Bragança) and 17 (in Faro and Portalegre) and the maximum between 24 degrees (in Guarda) and 32 (Santarém).
The forecast also points to a light to moderate wind from the east, blowing from moderate to strong and sometimes with gusts of up to 60 kilometers per hour in the highlands, especially in the Central region, until late in the morning and late in the afternoon.
Thus, the municipalities of Chamusca, Constância, Vila Nova da Barquinha, Tomar, Abrantes, Sardoal, Mação (Santarém), Vila de Rei (Castelo Branco), Gavião (Portalegre), Loulé, São Brás de Alportel are at maximum risk of fire and Tavira (Lighthouse).
The IPMA also placed almost all municipalities in mainland Portugal, except for the Viana do Castelo district and some in Braga, Porto and Vila Real, at very high and high risk.
the risk of fire will stand tall in some regions of the continent at least until Monday.
This risk, determined by the IPMA, has five levels, ranging from low to maximum.
The calculations are obtained from the air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and the amount of precipitation in the last 24 hours.
