Cases abound where a driver gets distracted or decides to take a chance and exceeds the maximum speed limit. The fine associated with this behavior arises with the aim of sanctioning and discouraging abuses that, in the opinion of the legislator, reduce road safety. But there are also cases as curious as they are strange, such as that of this French driver who was charged even when I wasn’t driving and while you the car was parked on top of a trailer.
The driver in question is the owner of an Alpine A110, a sports car that arouses some curiosity and that, at times, even driving within the speed limits, seems to be transgressing. Hence, when the A110 was captured by radar on the Périphérique, the equivalent of the 2nd Circular of Lisbon in the French capital, the conclusion of the technicians who analyze the photos captured by the system was immediate: the Alpine was moving at 5:39 in the morning at 79 km/h, in an area where the limit is set at 70 km/h.
The fine corresponding to the infraction was sent to the owner of the vehicle, for identification of the driver. But if those responsible for the validation system of the images captured by the radars had spent more seconds analyzing the frame, they would have realized that the perverted Alpine was “moving” in reverse, since the radar must capture the rear of the vehicle and not the front.
A few more seconds looking at the image would allow us to conclude that, in addition to “going in reverse” at 79 km/h, the A110 did it tied to a trailer, of those that are used when a car breaks down and you have to take it to the workshop. this duo gaffe of the French authorities did not go unnoticed by EasyRad, an entity specialized in contesting fines of this type, which did not take long to denounce the ridiculousness of the situation on social networks.
