Dave Chappelle’s fans and conservative activists immediately condemned First Avenue’s cowardly decision.
“Canceling the show doesn’t even reach the narrow goal of stopping. @DaveChappelle without speaking. The show was simply moved to another location and everyone could watch it there. If there is one example of kindness, this is it.

“Ultimately, the owners and staff of the theater believe that if they can get a comedian as powerful and popular as Dave Chappelle out of the conversation, they’ll have the same power as them, even if they can’t.” said Tim Young. https://t.co/ukkp3WsAaC

Minneapolis comedian fired because 0.003% said his words created a bad atmosphere and won’t stop crime?
Dave Chappelle is the victim of these little punks.
We must stop bowing down to them and bullying them.

Some on the left seem confused as to why wealthy and successful people like Dave Chappelle and JK Rowling haven’t stopped criticizing trans activism for loving it, but it’s pretty simple.

Remember the “Emperor Naked” story, but boy, instead of saying the obvious, he’s a billionaire because he doesn’t care about the negative reaction.

#DaveChappelle He is very rich and everything will be fine. Worry no more about this struggling comedian who just started his career without fame or fortune. (If you clap @First Avenue don’t be angry if someone else does the same for their favorite cause because he canceled his concert)

Something went wrong when Dave Chappelle, arguably the most famous comedian working today, couldn’t perform on the main stage because not everyone liked his jokes. 4/5

Never stand back from the crowd, because some people just don’t get a joke.
I support Dave Chappelle in his fight for free speech. https://t.co/oFqY3hCGTb

Humor can be a powerful weapon, and of all comedians, Dave Chappelle doesn’t want to be considered harmless. He takes risks and often has a message.
Sometimes people don’t like this message. Here’s the thing about risk. It is quite dangerous.

With Dave Chappelle making enemies in a lab designed to maximize how many of the people who like him and are willing to spend money to see him, it’s hard to imagine he could come up with anything better.

Trans activists don’t seem to understand that forcing ideological cohesion is not a winning strategy in the long run. Just because you tell people that JK Rowling, Dave Chappelle, and Emily Bazelone are transphobics who fuel violence doesn’t make people think it’s true. Probably because it isn’t.

IDIOT, owner of First Ave and CANCELED Dave Chappelle, just lost an UNREAL amount of money….

Dave Chappelle also reportedly called the cancellation of his appearance on Wednesday’s The Varsity “disruptive.” He also encouraged fans to continue supporting First Avenue.
“This is an important place for our culture,” he said.
But the veteran comedian had the last laugh: His Wednesday night show has been moved to another part of town.

Dave Chappelle recently stopped running a performing arts theater named after him after causing backlash from students at his old high school. closer. At the final opening ceremony, Chappelle announced that the theater would be renamed “Theatre of Artistic Freedom and Expression” instead.
“When I heard these conversations coming from the baby’s faces, it really, honestly, hurt me,” Chappelle said. “Because I know the wrong kid got these words. I’ve heard those words before. The more you say I have nothing to say, the more I’ll have to say it.”
“And it has nothing to do with what you said. I can’t say. It’s directly related to my right, my artistic freedom of expression,” he said. “This is important to me. Not separate from me. It’s worth protecting for me, and worth protecting for anyone trying our noble, noble professions.”
