The latest statements in the complaint, made by a former Twitter security chief, could play a key role in the ongoing legal battle between Tesla CEO Elon Musk and the social media platform.
Washington post He reported that Elon Musk immediately took note of Twitter’s recent allegations of bot and spam accounts made by the company’s former head of security, Pater Zatko.

Zatko said he “lied” about the number of bots on Twitter’s platform, specifically to Musk, who withdrew from the platform’s $44 billion purchase. Musk has long claimed that while Twitter’s bots make up about five percent of its platform, the figure is closer to 20 percent.
Zatko argues that Twitter is only sampling its official bot percentage from a subset of accounts known as “profitable daily active users,” or mDAU. But to give advertisers an idea of how many real people viewed their ads, this metric is designed to exclude bots.
Musk’s legal team will appear in Delaware Chancery Court on Wednesday for a hearing on Twitter’s ability to request information about its internal apps and user data. A source says Musk’s team will likely use Zatko’s whistleblower complaint to support their anti-Twitter lawsuit and buy more time.
Twitter disputed Zatko’s claims, and a spokesperson said, “Twitter … fully supports our claims about the percentage of spam accounts on our platform and the work we are doing to combat spam on the platform as a whole.”
