Archaeologists in the Republic of Khakassia found the head of an ancient statue several thousand years old.
Archaeologist Pyotr Amzarakov pointed out that this was a unique discovery because it had never been discovered in Khakassia before.
Archaeologists found the head in a place of the Okunev civilization, which, according to the researchers, is “the identity card of Khakassia: even the official symbols of the republic contain their own solar signs”.
“The statue we found is different from the general picture – because it shows us the connection of the local people who lived there more than 4,000 years ago with the people around them. Probably the Chemurchik civilization.”
It is reported that traces of the Akunev civilization (end of the 3rd millennium BC, beginning of the 2nd millennium BC) can be found in the Southern Siberian regions.
The Chemurchik civilization (2600-1700 BC) was widespread in the Altai and Dzungari of Mongolia and is famous for its anthropomorphic sculptures, which have analogues in southern France, attesting to the European contribution to early Chinese history.
