The media reported a photo it said showed a civilian barge being converted into a warship carrying a drone in an Iranian port in the Strait of Hormuz region.
Iran has begun building a unique aircraft carrier on which to house drones. Suicide drones with great power will be its basis. However, unmanned aerial vehicles equipped with various weapons can also be deployed here.
Today, this ship is considered the first aircraft in the world to be used as a carrier ship for marches. It can deploy up to 30 drones on its surface, allowing effective attacks to be directed at almost any target.
The Iranians named their ship “Shahid Bagheri”.
And given the pace of construction, the parade carrier could be ready by 2023.
Drone launchers are built on the left side of the ship. The images also showed equipment docked near the ship’s bow, resembling containers that carry and launch missiles from air defense platforms.
The drone carrier will be built for use by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Navy.
