Astronaut Buzz Aldrin marries the “love of a lifetime” on his 93rd birthday. “We are as happy as runaway teenagers”

Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the moon married for the fourth time. The American married Anca Faur, 63, this Friday, the day he celebrated 93 years of life.

Anca Faur has a PhD in chemical engineering and since 2019 has been working at Buzz Aldrin Ventures, the entity that bears the name of her now husband. She has been the company’s executive vice president since September 2021, according to her LinkedIn page.

In images shared on Twitter, Buzz Aldrin can be seen in a suit, adorned with the medals he earned for his work in the aviation field and as an astronaut. Of the trio of astronauts from the Apollo 11 mission, which on July 20, 1969 took a man to the moon, Buzz Aldrin is the only one alive. Neil Armstrong, the first to set foot on the Moon, died in 2012, at the age of 82, and Michael Collins in 2021, when he was 90 years old.

This is the fourth marriage for Buzz Aldrin, who he has been divorced three times. The astronaut married Joan Ann Archer in 1954 and was married for 20 years. He had three children from this marriage, James, Janice and Andrew, and has one grandson and four great-grandchildren. In 1975 he married Beverly Van Zilee, divorcing in 1978. His third marriage was to Lois Driggs Cannon and lasted from 1988 to 2012.

After going to the Moon, Buzz Aldrin continued to work with NASA, the US space agency, until July 1971. He then moved to Edwards Air Force Base, California, where he was commander of the aerospace research pilot school. . It is currently renovated.
