It seems that Kuga is here to dominate. After years of Mitsubishi’s continued quest for best-selling plug-in hybrid (PHEV) status in Europe with the Outlandera model that between 2013 and 2020 sold 270,000 units worldwide, is now the Ford that most conquers drivers on the Old Continent when it comes to purchasing a new PHEV. In 2021, the Kuga Plug-in Hybrid surpassed European sales and in 2022 it was once again the best-selling PHEV in Europe, with a 20% increase in deliveries compared to the volume of the previous year.

Announcing carbon dioxide emissions between 21 and 30 g/km and fuel consumption of 0.9-1.3 l/100 km, The Kuga PHEV combines a 152 PS 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder gasoline engine and a 132 PS electric motor, powered by a 10.6 kWh usable capacity battery (14.4 kWh gross).. The joint power of these two engines offers 225 CV of power and the ability to travel between 57 and 67 km in pure electric modein accordance with the European protocol for measurement of consumption and emissions WLTP.
