Scientists in Moscow have developed a device that mimics the thyroid gland

Scientists in the Russian capital have invented a medical device that mimics the functioning of the thyroid gland.

With the help of this innovative medicinal product, specialists can also simulate infection in other diseases.

It helps doctors improve their skills in diagnosing tumors and taking samples from a diseased organ. Large-scale industrial production of this useful medical device is planned to begin this year.

Ilya Tyrov, Deputy Head of the Moscow Government Health Department, said, “Moscow is conducting extensive scientific work aimed at improving the health system in the capital. The development of vital human organ simulators has become one of the projects aimed at developing our own technologies to replace imported, specialized medical devices that simulate organs and tissues of the human body. These devices are used to train doctors, replace and control medical equipment, and expand the capabilities of radiologists in the capital, greatly facilitating the acquisition of human health data.”

The use of simulation in medicine today helps to improve the quality of diagnosis and increase the efficiency of physicians. In this context, devices are currently being developed that mimic the function of the prostate and blood vessels.

Specialists of the Diagnostic and Telemedicine Center of the Ministry of Health in Moscow developed 5 medical simulators of this type. With its help, doctors can improve the capabilities of ultrasound diagnostics of blood vessels, blood clots in the brain, tumors and tumor foci in the mammary and thyroid gland, as well as improve the effectiveness of measurements and training when performing various operations using ultrasound technology.
