The automobile market in Portugal grew by 13.4% between January and April, with 89,415 new vehicles put into circulation, announced this Thursday the ACAP – Associação Automóvel de Portugal.
“From January to April 2024, 89,415 new vehicles were put into circulation, representing an increase of 13.4% compared to the same period of the previous year,” the association stated in a statement.
In April alone, 20,895 cars were registered, which represents a growth of 14.3% compared to the same month of the previous year.
By category, in the first four months there were 76,373 registrations of light passenger cars, 11.8% more than in the same period last year.
“From January to April 2024, 52.2% of light vehicles of new registered passengers were powered by other types of energy, namely electric and hybrid“, he detailed.
