The Government of the Azores opens requests for support due to bad weather

The Government of the Azores has opened applications for compensation for losses resulting from the bad weather recorded in June in the municipalities of Ribeira Grande and Praia da Vitória, according to orders published this Monday in the Official Gazette.

According to the Azorean government, the deadline for submitting applications is “set at 15 working days, counting from the date of publication of this order.”

The requests arise within the scope of the support provided in the legal-financial regime to support the climate emergency for situations of material loss and damage resulting from extreme weather events.

Applications for financial support are requested, in both cases, by submitting an application form that is available on the website of the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Action.
