More than 50 municipalities in the districts of Faro, Portalegre, Castelo Branco, Guarda, Vila Real, Viseu and Bragança are at maximum risk of rural fires on Tuesday, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA).

The IPMA also places several municipalities in all districts of mainland Portugal at very high risk of fire.

IPMA forecasts partly cloudy or clear skies on the continent on Tuesday, generally weak winds, morning mist or fog and a slight drop in maximum temperatures in the western part of the northern and central regions.
