Heavy rain. All continental districts under yellow alert

All districts of mainland Portugal are under a yellow warning this Wednesday due to the forecast of sometimes heavy rains, which may be accompanied by storms, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA).

The warning in the 18 districts of the continent will be in force between 12 and 9 p.m. this Wednesday.

The yellow warning, the least serious on a scale of three, is issued by the institute when there is “a risk situation for certain activities depending on the weather situation.”

The IPMA forecasts for this Wednesday on the continent Very cloudy skies and periods of rain or showers.that sometimes can be strong, hail and occasionally accompanied by thunderstormsin the northern and central interior during the early morning and in most of the territory starting in the afternoon.

The forecast also points to weak to moderate winds, sometimes strong on the coastal strip south of Cabo Carvoeiro from the afternoon and in the highlands, especially in the center and south, and a small drop in temperatures, especially in the north and center.

Minimum temperatures will range between 13 degrees Celsius (in Bragança, Guarda and Viseu) and 18 (in Faro, Lisbon and Aveiro) and maximum temperatures between 16 (in Guarda) and 25 (in Aveiro).
