Iran guarantees that it is making efforts to protect peace and security in the region, but warns that it is also willing to respond “firmly” to “any adventure” by Israel.

Iran “will respond firmly” to any Israeli attack, warned the head of Iranian diplomacy, Abbas Araghchi, during a telephone conversation with the UN Secretary General, António Guterres, in a context of high regional tensions.
“HE Iran is making considerable efforts to protect peace and security in the region, but is fully prepared to respond. “resolutely against any adventure” on the part of Israel, he stated in a statement released this Wednesday by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
HE Iran launched around 200 missiles at Israel on October 1including multiple hypersonic missiles for the first time.
These attacks were presented by Tehran as retaliation for the assassination, in July, in the Iranian capital, of the leader of Palestinian Hamas, attributed to Israel.
HE Iran says it also acted in response to death in Lebanon attack of an Iranian general, as well as Hassan Nasrallah, who led Lebanese Hezbollah for more than 30 years.
The Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abbas Araghchi, has intensified consultations in the region in recent days to try to calm the situation, successively visiting Lebanon, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iraq and Oman.
Araghchi is expected to visit Jordan this Wednesday, followed by Egypt and Türkiye.
Iran does not recognize the State of Israel and has made support for the Palestinian cause one of the pillars of its foreign policy since the Islamic Revolution of 1979.
