Protest in Valencia. Protesters take to the streets to demand the resignation of the president of the regional government

Many people demonstrate this Saturday in the streets of Valencia, Spain, calling for the resignation of the president of the Valencian Community, Carlos Mazón, a week after the floods that devastated the south and east of the country.

“Mazón’s resignation”, “They were not stained with mud, but with blood”, can be read on the banners raised by the protesters who make themselves heard peacefully, but not in silence, reports El País. The demonstration mobilizes more than 40 organizations, including. associations, unions and civil society.

A week after the floods, Spanish authorities confirmed the deaths of at least 214 people, most of whom were in the Valencia region, following flooding following Storm DANA, which hit the territory on 29 October.
