MSNBC “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough reacted to yesterday’s hearing of the House Election Committee on Friday.
Scarborough described the trial as “challenging” as Watergate. He told viewers that they were “watching the story” through gossip.
“Actually yesterday [was] almost as convincing as any trial we’ve seen on Capitol Hill since Watergate,” Scarborough said. “I was young when the Watergate trials took place. I was disappointed because we only had four channels back then and I wanted to watch The Flintstones and Mister Ed, but my family was sitting in the front watching Watergate and it was super exciting. And you see these clips and this is history. And you never thought you’d see something like this.
But to be honest… we saw something, and we continue to see each other at the hearings on January 6,” he said. “Look at history, you understand, because again you realize that maybe we have become insensitive towards all of us as a nation, there was a president who tried to steal the elections and destroy the Constitution. encouraged gangs to assassinate the vice president and tried to take control of the Justice Department. And oh my god, there were lines from the movie yesterday from Justice Department officials who stood up to the President of the United States and said we were going to go down and leave you without a functioning Justice Department. This is an extraordinary testimony.”
