The PSD announced this Friday that it wants to hear in Parliament, as a matter of urgency, the Securities Market Commission (CMVM), considering that there are “abnormal governor operating conditions”.
In the request, sent on Thursday to the president of the Budget and Finance Commission and released this Friday, the PSD deputies recall that, according to the CMVM statutes, its board “is made up of a president, a vice president and three members” , with a total of five members.
It happens that, for several months, the CMVM has been functioning with only two fully available members, given the resignation of its president, exposing a situation of anomalous functioning, to which the Government has not been able to find a solution. The normal exercise of the powers of the financial sector regulator may even be at risk”, warn the Social Democrats.
In the request signed by the deputy and coordinator of this area Duarte Pacheco, it is requested, for these reasons, “the urgent hearing of the CMVM provide clarification on how it is working“.
