Republicans are targeting law enforcement for doing their job as he criticized the FBI raid on former President Donald Trump’s Florida property, Democratic strategist Donna Brazile said on Sunday for ABC’s This Week.
Host John Karl said, “So, frankly, this FBI defense is way out of line. You’re talking about how the country is divided over something like this? Are you, these ardent supporters of Donald Trump, making charges against our law enforcement?”
Brazil said: “As you know, the threats that worry me are threats to law enforcement. You released the police, now free the FBI. Who judged? When a small minority of Democratic lawmakers and activists announced the payment of the fund, all the cops were outraged. How dare you. How dare you threaten the highest order in our country, the FBI? Republicans are mostly silent.”
He continued, “It’s time to take a step back. It’s time to respect the rule of law.”
Brazile added: “It’s scary to see Republican lawmakers chasing law enforcement because their party’s leaders are basically doing their job. Ex-president, let’s start calling him ex-president, stop calling him president, ex-president is acting and acting like a kid.
