To kick off the summer festival season: OUT///FEST returns to Marechal Carmona Park to turn Cascais into the setting for a day full of music and entertainment. Next to the sea and surrounded by nature, this festival is divided into two spaces, the central garden of the park and the amphitheater, and features names such as Tempura, Selecta Alice, DJ Khalil Suleman and DJ Anii. Tickets cost €20 per person and can be purchased on the organization’s website.

To try a four-hand menu: Straight from New York, Fredrik Berselius will join chef Hans Neuner at Ocean in Vila Vita Parc in Porches for a four-hands dinner. Scheduled for the night of May 18, the menu of this experience is made up of creations by the two chefs, which will be based on regional products and techniques from the four corners of the world. Wandering with María Luísa Ruiz-Tagle: until May 19, the exhibition Wander (from port to port) It will be available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Cascais Cultural Center to bring visitors closer to the work of María Luísa Ruiz-Tagle. It was through her wanderings through the streets of cities such as Santiago de Chile and Lisbon that the Chilean artist gave life to this set of works that portray the constant movement of people and things. The work in oil on oak wood, from the 17th century, has been on display again since last May 10. Admission to the museum costs €8 per person.

This is how Taste & Toast Fest is presented, the gastronomic event that will invade the Vila Nova de Gaia hotel on May 17. Overlooking the Douro, chef Ricardo Costa invited seven chefs to prepare dishes from his cuisine and his region live, putting into practice techniques and ingredients capable of paying tribute to his gastronomic roots. In this cooking show, chefs Noélia Jerónimo, Óscar Geadas, Diogo Rocha, Kiko Martins, Ricardo Nogueira Mugasa and António Vieira will take guests on a gastronomic journey through Portugal. Taste a product in two different ways: The Peixe Atlântico Gastronomic Days are back at Vinum Restaurant & Wine Bartêm for 11 days where products from the Atlantic Ocean will be worked with the vision and recipes of two different cultures and traditions: the Basque and the Japanese. To do this, the Basque chef Iñaki López de Viñaspre teamed up with the Japanese chef Hideki Matsuhisa and prepared a menu that celebrates the flavors of the sea. From Japan, “Japanese” anchovies, cockles in saké, kokotxa on kombu seaweed, sole sashimi and tuna tartare arrive on the table, while, from the Basque Country, these five ingredients are presented with a different technique: Bermean anchovies , cockles. grilled, kokotxas al pil pil, sole with grilled asparagus and tuna marmitako. As for dessert, there is no shortage of traditional cheesecake, here reinvented and flavored with Yuzu.

MENTAL Festival

To talk about mental health: The 8th edition of MENTAL arrived at the São Jorge Cinema on May 16 and continues until Sunday the 19th, with a program that includes film sessions, short films, questions and answers, debates, documentary screenings, theater, talks, workshops and concerts . “Noah’s Ark – The songs of our memory”

To travel in time: The magic of the 90s will return on May 18 with Carlos Alberto Moniz and Noah’s Ark on stage. The Portuguese artist invites children and adults to make friends with animals, with the return in concert of “Noah’s Ark – As Canções da Nossa Memória”, the popular program where music and questions about animals brought families to the forefront of television during that decade. International Museum Day 2024

To celebrate 8 years of MUSA: The party started on May 13, in both Lisbon and Porto, but continues throughout the weekend with a program full of music, food and, of course, plenty of beer to drink. MUSA turns eight years old with eight days of celebration and, on the 17th, it is Bica who kicks off the entertainment – which only ends on Monday – with DJ Batida and the flavors of chef Pedro Abril. On May 18, Marvila and the Virtudes join forces, with names like Amaura & M3dusa, Vaiapraia, Surma and Nigga Fox, in Lisbon, and Bruma and PZ B2b Keso, in Porto. Mysteries

With the next scheduled for May 17, the capital’s oldest open cabaret invites the public to confess, anonymously, a secret that will then be integrated into the immersive cabaret show. Parallel to the show, there is also the Secrets menu, consisting of sea tortellini with crustacean foam, salicornia and spinach, duck with plums, kale, crispy potatoes and white asparagus and lemongrass crème brûlée, raspberry sorbet and oats. “Amédée or How to Untangle”

To see a play from the 1950s: Within the framework of the International Iberian Expression Theater Festival, the Carlos Alberto Theater will stage, on May 18 and 19, the play Amédée or How to Untangle, from 1954, by the Franco-Romanian playwright Eugène Ionesco. The work tells the story of Amédée and Madeleine, a couple who have lived for 15 years with a corpse in the next room and who now need to dispose of the body.

The work will be presented at the TeCA on Saturday, May 18 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 19 at 4 p.m.
