The bill on the provision of a $ 40 billion military aid package to Ukraine passed a preliminary vote in the U.S. Senate, which will be voted on next Wednesday.
And they voted to end deliberation of the bill within 30 hours and submit it for final approval, compared to 11 votes against Monday’s 81 members of the House of Representatives, and the bill is expected to finally will be approved on May 18. It will be signed later by US President Joe Biden.
The House of Representatives passed the bill last week by a vote of 368 to 57. Republican Senator Rand Paul blocked the speedy passage of the bill later in the Senate.
In addition to economic and humanitarian aid and support for refugees, the bill includes allocating more money to provide military equipment to Ukraine, including spending 20 billion on equipment and training for the Ukrainian army.
The Pentagon has confirmed that Washington has the resources so far to provide uninterrupted military assistance to Ukraine until May 19.
