North Korea ignores Joe Biden’s visit to Seoul

President Joe Biden arrived in South Korea on Friday without a response from North Korea’s communist regime.

As the only legal form of media in the country, most of North Korea’s state news outlets did not mention Biden’s arrival and did not inform the public that there was significant diplomatic activity in South Korea. The North Korean government has not openly criticized Biden or newly arrived conservative South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol for the visit since Biden’s arrival, but the visit is scheduled to visit an Air Force operations center that allegedly plagues Pyongyang.

America and its ally South Korea are technically still at war with North Korea and its ally China, as neither side has signed a peace treaty that officially ended the Korean War. The Korean War began in 1950 and active fighting ended in 1953 with a ceasefire agreement. The American military presence in South Korea was largely due, in theory at least, to the continuation of the war.

The Korea Central News Agency (KCNA), the main media outlet of the North Korean communist regime, released two “press reviews” on North Korean media coverage on Wednesday and Thursday. None of the reviews mentioned Biden.

Friday’s review included an obituary for 87-year-old warlord Hyun Chul-hae, several articles about China’s ongoing coronavirus crisis in North Korea, and “an article about the warm respect and patriotic feelings and efforts shown for the leader.” The number of all Koreans after the 8th meeting of the Politburo of the 8th convocation of the Party Central Committee ”.

“Students in health education institutions have been successful,” says another summary.

On Thursday, North Korean state media published “a political article and an article saying that the Koreans will definitely win the epidemic prevention campaign because they are led by the respected comrade Kim Jong-un.” The situation in the country has improved, with an update on the “rice seedling transplant campaign” and news that the dictator Kim has sent another birthday to a century-old North Korea. Biden was not nominated.

North Korea recognized the first outbreak of the Chinese coronavirus last week after claiming it hasn’t registered a single case in the country for more than two years. In less than a week, the communist regime had registered more than 1 million Chinese coronavirus cases from scratch; About 26 million people are believed to live in North Korea. The Yong government in Seoul offered whatever humanitarian aid needed, but Pyongyang did not respond.

At the Samsung factory, Biden took the opportunity to denounce Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, apparently saying that importing computer chips from South Korea could help protect American supply chains from “dependence in countries that don’t share our values.”

“An important part of how we do it, [remain independent] “Working with close partners who share our values, like the Republic of Korea, to get more than we need from our allies and partners and increase the stability of our supply chain.” news agency. Yonhap.

Biden allegedly made no mention of America’s greater reliance on its supply chain and imports from China.

Yonhap noted that Samsung’s factory is the largest of its kind in the world, with South Korea making 59 percent of the world’s memory chips and 19.9 percent of the world’s computer chips, second only to the United States.

Prior to Biden’s arrival, South Korea’s National Intelligence Service (NIS) warned that North Korea was preparing for an “imminent” test on nuclear weapons. North Korea has tested six nuclear weapons in its history, four of them when Biden was vice president, and has not tested a nuclear bomb since 2017.

“We were told there were signs of missile launch despite the fact that the country is in the midst of a coronavirus pandemic and all preparations have been completed and they are estimating the time until nuclear testing is in question,” he said. Korean official said. , Ha Tae Keung said after a briefing with NIS officials on Thursday.

Prior to the Korean government’s warnings, US national security adviser Jake Sullivan also warned that a nuclear test could be conducted soon.

“Our intelligence reflects the real possibility that any, or obviously both, of new missile tests, including long-range missile tests or nuclear tests, will be carried out in the days before, during or after the President’s journey. region,” Sullivan said.

Kim Jong Un urged citizens to prepare for nuclear war at a massive military parade in April.

“The primary task of our nuclear forces is to prevent war, but our nuclear weapons will not be limited to the task of preventing war alone, even at a time when a situation we do not want in this world is created,” he said. Kim Jong-un. He said in a speech at a parade dedicated to North Korea’s armed forces. “The nuclear forces of our republic must be fully prepared to implement.[l] activating the responsible mission and unique prevention method at every moment.
