Princess Charlene and her daughter Princess Gabrielle were the stars of an awards ceremony at Monte Carlo Fashion Week. For her mother it was another public appearance after long months of separation and for her daughter it was the first official act that she presided over, says Vanity Fair.
In anticipation of the event, Charlene posted a photo on her Instagram account with her daughter on her lap. “I loved every moment preparing my princess for her first official event. We hope it will be a great night at the fashion awards,” she wrote in the caption, ending the message with a red heart-shaped emoji. Both princesses wore dresses by Monegasque designer Terrence Bray. Charlene opted for a long model and fitted in a champagne tone, while Gabrielle shone in a colorful floral print dress, also long.

Monte Carlo Fashion Week, whose patron saint is Princess Charlene, has not had events for two years due to the pandemic, and returns to the principality this week. Tuesday’s ceremony took place at the Monte Carlo Opera, where mother and daughter took the stage to present the awards. Little Gabrielle presented the emerging designer trophy to Abdul Al-Romaizan, creative director of Saudi fashion brand Ramzen.
Although the seven-year-old princelings have already attended numerous official events with their parents, this was the first official event that Princess Gabrielle presided over. This Tuesday, the Monaco heirs shared events with their parents, since while Gabrielle attended the Monte Carlo Fashion Week awards ceremony with her mother, Jacques attended a charity football match with Prince Albert. The 29th edition of the World Stars Football Match took place this Tuesday afternoon at the Louis II stadium in Monte Carlo.
Charlene was all smiles in the company of her daughter in a new public appearance after a long absence from public life and also from the principality. Since last April 30, the princess has been present at some events, such as when the family of four attended a Formula E championship race that took place in Monaco.
In May 2021, the princess traveled to South Africa to participate in a campaign by her foundation (Fondation Princess Charlène du Monaco) against rhino poaching. While there, she was the victim of a serious ear, nose and throat infection that not only forced her to undergo three surgeries (the last one in October), but also prevented her from traveling by plane, as she was unable to withstand the pressure exerted by the flight altitude.
Charlene returned from South Africa to Monaco at the beginning of last November. She, however, quickly left the principality to continue taking care of her “physical and mental” health, according to Prince Albert, at a clinic in Europe. She returned to the principality again last March.
