Kirill Strimosov, deputy head of the military and civil administration of the Kherson region, had previously announced that centers had been opened for obtaining documents from those wishing to obtain Russian citizenship in their territory.
For residents of Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, obtaining a Russian passport will no longer be a problem.
The President of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksionov, wrote in his Telegram channel that the republic is ready to provide all necessary support to organize the process of issuing Russian passports to residents of the territories covered by the decree of the president.
On Wednesday, May 25, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed Decree No. 304, which simplified the procedures for obtaining Russian citizenship for residents of the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, and the order was published on the official Internet portal for legal information.
According to Decree 304, residents of Kherson and Zaporozhye will join the residents of Donetsk and Lugansk republics in the simplified procedures for obtaining Russian citizenship, as those wishing to obtain citizenship must apply to the departments of Ministry of Russia on this issue. Internally, with the stamped identity document issued by local authorities confirming residence in these areas.
