Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama warned against “undermining European security and the world economy as a result of Russian aggression against Ukraine”, explaining that “we have basic values and international law that reflects the relationship between the international community, and these values” we have not achieved ” easily and effectively claimed the lives of tens of millions of people so that the international community could create international legal bodies that must be adhered to.”

During the meeting of the UN Security Council on the topic “Increasing Accountability and Justice for Serious Violations of International Law”, he pointed out that “international law, international criminal law and human rights laws continue to be flagrantly violated”, and continued: “Injustice in any a place that threatens justice everywhere.”

He considered that “the 11-year-old conflict in Syria is a good example of this, and the failure to hold the Syrian regime accountable for its crimes against its people is contributing to the perpetration of atrocities in other countries” and warned that “the lack of response to violations in every country should not be a reason not to take action in other countries,” he said, adding: “I mean Russian aggression against Ukraine.”

Rama stressed that “Russian aggression against Ukraine violates all the values and rules advocated by the Security Council”, considering it “an unjustified and illegitimate war that undermines European security and the world economy and exacerbates global food security.”
