The head of the Supreme Political Council of the Yemeni Ansar Allah Movement, Mahdi Al-Mashat, said: “We are striving to open roads to alleviate the suffering of the citizens of Taiz and other provinces caused by aggression and its mercenaries (meaning the Arab coalition and the internationally recognized Yemeni government) and their intransigence and rejection of any decisions.

He indicated, according to what was reported by the Al-Masirah Movement channel, that “we will be with everything that alleviates the suffering of the people of Taiz and the rest of the provinces, and if the intransigence of the aggression and its mercenaries continues, we will announce a unilateral initiative”, noting, that “the people of Taiz realize today that aggression and its mercenaries seek to continue the suffering they have created, since it has become a source of illegal income for them.

And last Friday, UN Security Council members expressed their hope that the enhanced truce will translate into a permanent ceasefire and a comprehensive UN-sponsored political settlement, voicing concern about the grave humanitarian consequences of the ongoing road closures around Taiz, calling on the Ansar Bog group to “act with flexibility in the negotiations and immediately open the main roads.
