Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy reiterated his willingness to have peace talks with Putin, the Financial Times reported.
The newspaper, which held a video conference with the President of Ukraine, said, “Zelensky said that“ victory must be achieved on the battlefield ”, but also stressed that he was open to peace talks with ( Russia) President Vladimir Putin. He also noted that there was no “option” and called on the West to re -provide military support to Ukraine.
Ukraine and Russia have been in talks on a diplomatic settlement of the conflict almost since the start of Russia’s military operation, but the dialogue was cut short in April. The Russian Foreign Ministry later said that Kiev itself had suspended negotiations with Russia, and Moscow had not responded to proposals for a draft agreement. Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the President of Russia, noted that the Ukrainian leadership continues to make conflicting statements, and it is impossible to understand what it wants.
