Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov stressed that “Russian-American political dialogue is at an unprecedented low level, trust is undermined, cooperation is collapsing even on issues that are of clear common interest,” noting that “communication between the two sides is limited, it is limited discussion of technical issues.

In an interview with the press, he pointed out that “the relationship between the Russian embassy and the American authorities was frozen at the initiative of the American side,” explaining that “the strategic dialogue, as we call it, was frozen at the initiative of Washington on February 25 for an indefinite period. We were told that supervision for weapons is not a priority for the US administration, given the special operation of Russian troops in Ukraine.

Antonov stressed that “the dialogue on cybersecurity has also been interrupted and there is currently no way to resume it.” He stressed that “the US administration needs to take action to counter the wave of Russophobia in the United States of America.”

He expressed his belief that “sane thinking will prevail”, adding that “two great nations must deal”.
