The Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, condemned in three identical letters he sent to United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, President of the Security Council this month (Albania), Farid Hoxha and President of the United Nations General Assembly Abdullah Shahid, ” The Israeli entity, the occupying Power, continues to destroy Palestinian homes and property and forcibly displace Palestinian families, in flagrant violation of international law.”
In his communications, Mansour indicated that “more than a thousand children, women and men are under the threat of imminent expulsion and forced displacement in light of the continued settler colonization of our land and the imposition of the policy of apartheid on our people.” emphasizing that “the continued failure of the international community to enforce international law”. The implementation of the relevant resolutions certainly encourages Israel’s blatant impunity.”
He called on the international community to “apply the principles of international law to the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, without fear or preference and without double standards.”
Mansour touched on the plight of 12 communities in Masafir Yatta, south of Hebron, “which are facing the nightmare of imminent forced displacement which, if carried out, will deprive nearly 1,200 Palestinians, most of them children and women, of their property and forcibly expel them from their homes and lands, under the pretext of handover, the Area has been moved to the so-called (fire zone) for military exercises”, emphasizing that “these actions constitute war crimes that must be categorically condemned and efforts must be made to stop them in accordance with international law , humanitarian law, human rights and relevant United Nations resolutions, including Security Council resolution 2334.”
Mansour called on the international community, including the Security Council, to “take immediate action against impunity and protect the freedom, equality and rights of all peoples, including the Palestinian people.”
