When he met with Norwegian Foreign Minister Anakin Hotveld in Oslo, according to the Yemeni news agency Saba, the government said: “The intransigence of the Houthis and their insistence on continuing the siege of the city of Taiz presents a real dilemma before launching a political process led by the United Nations.

He expressed “recognition of the efforts made by Norway through its membership in the Security Council to promote peace in Yemen”, calling for “pressure on the Houthis to respect the terms of the truce and fulfill calls for peace in Yemen”.

He expressed “Yemen’s desire for Norway to play a vital role in the Security Council to highlight the need to end the siege of Taiz, open roads to other cities and put pressure on Iran to stop interfering in Yemeni affairs and provide aid to the Houthis.” weapons and equipment,” he said.

The Yemeni Foreign Minister blamed a Houthi group for today’s drone attack on Taiz City, saying: “We condemn today’s Houthi drone aggression against Taiz City. The violation of the truce by the Houthi militias is a sign of the inability of the militias to realize peaceful rights.” He emphasized: “the desire of the Presidential Leadership Council to achieve peace in Yemen.”

For her part, the Norwegian Foreign Minister reaffirmed that her country, as a member of the Security Council, will continue to support Yemen and promote security, stability and peace.
