STOCKHOLM (AP) – At least two people, one of which is life-threatening, were injured in a knife attack on a shopping mall in the west of the Swedish capital, police said on Tuesday. The suspect was arrested.
Police said “some kind of sharp object” was used in the attack and the incident is being investigated as attempted murder.
Hospital staff identified the victims as men aged 40 and 50, respectively.
Police spokesman Magnus Jansson Klarin told Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet that they had no idea what was behind the attack and was simply a criminal.
The incident occurred in the city of Västerås, 90 kilometers west of Stockholm.
