U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, speaking from the German capital of Berlin, said that “not only the Ukrainian people are suffering as a result of the Russian invasion, other countries are also suffering,” explaining that “if Russia gets to get away with impunity for its violations in Ukraine, this will serve as a signal of refusal from the principles of justice,” he said, noting that the United States is ready to support any potential diplomatic solutions to the conflict in Ukraine.
He noted that “our total support for Ukraine has exceeded $6.1 billion and we will continue to support it. Russia is facing logistical difficulties in the war with Ukraine and its leaders are not telling the truth.”
And Blinken showed: “Russian national income is declining and there are exceptional measures to support the ruble, but they do not bring real benefit”, noting that “Russia’s ability to provide good services to its citizens is declining”, explaining that “1000 large global companies have left Russia and many Russians are leaving their country.”
He stated that “the economic situation in Russia has been deteriorating since the start of the war in Ukraine”, noting that “we have imposed sanctions on the Russian energy sector, and the European Union has said it will limit imports from Russia by 90%”, saying that “measures are being taken to support the existence of NATO in Eastern Europe,” he said, adding that “the coming days will not be easy, but we must remain determined to preserve the security and sovereignty of Ukraine”, stressing that “Russia wants to control its neighbors, and we cannot allow this “We have built a strong alliance against Russia, and next week we will strengthen our unity during the NATO summit.”
