Russia 1 state television programs have been promoting the idea that the war will spread beyond Ukraine’s borders. In “Night with Vladimir Solovyev” last Wednesday, a Duma deputy said that it is necessary to consider “all options”, including a “colossal war” involving NATO.
When asked on the show by Vladimir Solovyev if Russia was refraining from exploiting some of its military assets because Putin wanted to keep them free for a possible fight against NATO, Andrey Gurulyov replied: “We are obliged to consider this possibility”reports Newsweek magazine.
We have to consider all options, including a great colossal war and be prepared for it,” he added, explaining that Russia is “ready” for such a scenario, ABC writes.

The deputy, who is also a close ally of Putin, also criticized Wesley Clark, former commander-in-chief of NATO forces, for saying the conflict could not be “stopped without intervention” by the Atlantic Alliance. “It is better not to react or respond to your statements [de Wesley Clark]. A dog barks and the caravan passes by,” said Andrey Gurulyov, who went on to stress that Russia could use up to “100 missiles a day” in Ukraine by the end of the year.
In the same program, “Evening with Vladimir Solovyev”, the presenter also reinforced the idea that the conflict in Ukraine can escalate beyond the borders and spoke about Western aid to kyiv: “Now they [o Ocidente] are considering becoming directly involved [na guerra]”.
Vladimir Solovyev also indicated, according to Newsweek, that Poland, the UK and the Baltic states have formed a “totally new alliance” that will engage in the Ukraine war and “the rest of NATO will follow.”
