Thousands of people demonstrated this Sunday in Madrid, Spain, against the right to voluntarily interrupt a pregnancy and celebrated the decision of the Supreme Court of the United States that annulled the protection of abortion in the United States, reports Efe.
The demonstration, which gathered some 20,000 people, according to local authorities, was attended by people from different parts of Spain and was organized by more than 200 organizations, having walked the streets of the Spanish capital without incident. with music, flags and banners “in defense of life” and against abortion and euthanasia laws.
“We risk our lives, enough laws against truth and human nature,” read the banner that led the march, behind which was the former Minister of the Interior and president of Um de Nós, Jaime Mayor Oreja, who, quoted by Efe, He said that this demonstration showed that “the culture of life is more alive than ever.”
Maior Oreja said that the decision of the Supreme Court of the United States, which annulled the protection of the right to abortion, “is an element of hope and of the future” and “that you cannot build a future with laws that destroy human nature“.

Members of the Vox party also participated in the march against the right to abortion, such as the president, Santiago Abascal, the spokesman in Congress, Iván Espinosa de los Monteros, and the group’s leader in the Community of Madrid, Rocío Monasterio.
Espinosa de los Monteros told reporters that he defends “the right to life as an alternative to the 100,000 abortions on which the State spends more money each year and very little on life.”
During the march, Efe described slogans such as “Life yes, abortion no” and in statements to the Spanish agency, one of the protesters, Beatriz, defended that the abortion law in Spain is “an authentic genocide because it kills human beings”.
