On Monday, Jordanian public security announced that five people had been killed and 234 injured in a gas leak in the port of Aqaba.
Jordanian officials also declared a state of emergency on Monday (June 7th) following a gas leak in the port of Aqaba and the wounding of a number of people.
A spokesman for the Public Security Directorate, Amer al-Sartawi, said a number of injured people were taken to hospital after a toxic gas leak from a tank after falling.
Al-Sartawi explained that while working daily in the port of Aqaba, a tanker full of toxic gases crashed during transport, causing a gas leak at the scene.

He pointed out: the area was isolated and the specialists started dealing with this incident, and the civil defense also transferred the injured to the hospital for treatment.
