Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that liberating Donbass, protecting its people and achieving Russia’s own security are the ultimate goals behind Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine.
“The ultimate goal is what I set on February 24, which is to liberate Donbass, protect these people there and create conditions that guarantee Russia’s own security and that’s it,” Putin said in a press release. A conference on the sidelines of the 6th Caspian Summit held in Ashgabat.
He pointed out that the work to reach the goal continues quietly and rhythmically.
He added: “The Russian army is moving and reaching the lines drawn to achieve the goal of combat operations, and everything is going according to plan.”
Emphasizing that “military operations in Ukraine are not limited by time”, he noted that the objectives of military operations have not changed and tactics will probably be modified as well.
“Also, Moscow has no problem with Finland and Sweden joining NATO,” President Putin said during a visit to Turkmenistan, where he denounced what he described as NATO’s “imperial ambitions.”
