After the failure of the recent talks that were held indirectly in Doha last week between Iran and the United States, Tehran announced a new round to prepare for it.
Iran’s chief negotiator Ali Bagheri Keni said: Consultations are underway to determine the date and location of the new round of nuclear negotiations.
Bagheri Kenny said that his country and the European Union are consulting and consulting for “the date and place of future negotiations, according to the report of the official IRNA news agency yesterday Sunday evening.”
However, this Iranian official did not specify whether the next round will be held between his country and the 4+1 group (England, China, France and Russia in addition to Germany) or indirectly between them and the United States.
It should be noted that the nuclear negotiations that started last Tuesday in the capital of Qatar indirectly between the Iranian and American delegation ended in disappointment, because no significant progress was made in the positions of the two sides, especially Iran.
The next day (Wednesday, June 29), the spokesperson of the US State Department announced that “the country is disappointed that Tehran has once again refused to respond positively to the EU plan, and therefore no progress has been made during the negotiations.”
Two intensive days of close negotiations in Doha #Jaram. Unfortunately, there is not yet the progress that the EU team as coordinators had hoped for. He also added at the time that the talks failed because “Iran raised points that were not related to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (the official name of the 2015 agreement), given that it is not ready to make a fundamental decision on whether it wants to revive or not.” . Agree or bury it!”
For his part, EU coordinator Enrique Mora emphasized that the Doha talks did not bring the “progress” expected by the EU. At that time, he wrote in a tweet that he published on his Twitter along with a photo of himself in a meeting with Ali Bagheri Kenny: “Unfortunately, two intense days of indirect negotiations have not yet led to the progress of the EU team.” was hopeful.”
However, he clarified that work will continue to restore this agreement, which serves nuclear non-proliferation and regional stability.
It is worth noting that the nuclear talks started in Vienna last April and continued in marathon rounds, before they were stopped last March, as a result of some new requests from Iran outside the agreement, such as removing the name of the IRGC. From the list of American terrorist organizations, as well as their extremism in some guarantees.
Since then, negotiations have stalled, but recent efforts by Europe have led to a return to the negotiating table, but the winds are against Enrique Mora’s ships!
