A video clip has revealed the highly skilled pilot of a plane forced to land on a car-packed highway in the United States this week after engine failure.
The video, captured by the pilot just as he landed, shows vehicles driving in front of and beside him on a highway in Swain County, North Carolina.
According to CNN, no one was injured in this incident.
Vincent Fraser, the pilot of this plane, said: “I was surprised that the plane’s engine suddenly stopped working and I weighed all the available options to see if landing on the highway was the safest option.”
He added: The only thing I had in mind when I landed was that I didn’t want to hurt or kill anyone.
Three days later, the pilot took off from the same highway after the defect was fixed by a specialist engineer.
The Swain County Sheriff praised the pilot’s skills. “A lot of catastrophic things could have happened with this landing, but Frazier managed to avoid all of those things and keep his cool,” Swain County Sheriff’s Office Chief Curtis Cochran said on Facebook.
