Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko discussed issues related to transit to Kaliningrad and the conduct of a special military operation in Ukraine in a telephone conversation.

“During telephone conversations, the presidents of the two countries confirmed their mutual determination to strengthen Russian-Belarusian relations, partnership and alliance,” the Kremlin press service said.

“The two presidents also discussed the situation in the post-Soviet space, the supply of Russian energy resources to Europe, the defense of Russia and Belarus,” the Belarusian news agency Belta reported.

The authorities of the Kaliningrad region of Russia proposed to introduce a complete ban on the movement of goods between Russia and the Baltic countries in response to restrictions imposed by Lithuania on the transit of goods to the Russian province. It should be noted that the Russian Foreign Ministry has previously stated that “Moscow will take tough measures against Lithuania and the European Union if the problem of transporting goods to Kaliningrad is not resolved, stressing that the wait is long.”
