They are already on their way to Ukraine. Portuguese armored vehicles intended to help the Ukrainian armed forces in the fight against the Russian invasion, the Ministry of National Defense confirmed to the Observer. The team in question is M113 model armored personnel carriersAmerican-made, one of the most common vehicles in the armed forces around the world, and is headed to Ukraine in a special logistics operation coordinated with NATO countries.
This weekend, the newspaper Nascer do Sol had reported that a total of 14 armored vehicles left the Santa Margarida Military Camp (in Constancia) for Ukraine, in Polish trucks, must cross the border with Ukraine after a seven-day journey. According to the same newspaper, citing unidentified military sources, the logistics operation involves seven trucks (since each one carries two armored vehicles) and is being financed mainly by the United States and the United Kingdom.
