The pilot requested an emergency landing due to engine trouble, but the aircraft’s signal was lost.
Video footage shows the plane bursting into flames and descending rapidly before hitting the ground in what appears to be an explosion.
The fire department could not confirm the type of aircraft, but said: “Initial reports indicate that there were eight passengers on board.”
And it explained in a statement that it had “deployed 15 firefighters and 7 vehicles to put out the fire that broke out after the incident, while more rescuers were on their way to the scene.”
It is not clear what the cargo is, but one of the rescue officials said: We treat the cargo as a dangerous substance.
