The Haaretz newspaper reported that an investigation by the European Parliament found that some MPs’ phones had been hacked using Israeli programs such as the famous Pegasus spyware.
And the newspaper Haaretz reported: “The European Parliament took action on the phones of parliamentarians, and it was found that the phone of the head of the Socialist Party of Greece, Nikos Androulakis, was hacked”, noting that “the phone of the parliamentarian received a malicious link via SMS and was threatened via program.” Predator spyware developed by an Israeli electronics company.
She explained: “In order to install the program, you had to ‘click’ on a link (unlike Pegasus, which does not require this), and since the parliamentarian did not, it is possible that his phone was not infected.”
After filing a complaint with prosecutors, Androlakis said “there was an attempt to hack into his mobile phone” using the Predator surveillance program, adding that “exposing whoever made this attempt is not a personal matter, but a democratic duty.”
