The Kremlin press service reported that “Russian President Vladimir Putin on July 31 at the main naval parade to be held in St. Petersburg and Kronstadt will sign a decree approving the Russian Naval Doctrine and the Charter of the Russian Navy,” noting gunboats will parade Putin, encircle warships in the waters of the Gulf of Finland, the Neva and on the Kronstadt sea route, and his crews will congratulate him on the Day of the Navy.”

In the message, he pointed out that “holiday events traditionally include naval, air, land and coastal components. The event will end with a solemn march of the participating military units, as well as cadets of universities and military educational institutions, and parades of Russian warships will be held in Vladivostok, Baltiysk, Severomorsk, Kaspiysk, Novorossiysk and Tartus (Syria).
