Demin said in statements that “the Ukrainian side confirmed receipt of the amount,” noting that “Kyiv will begin to ensure the process of transporting Russian oil through the Druzhba line again to neighboring countries.”

These statements were made after the Russian company “Transneft” had previously stated that the Ukrainian company “Ukrtransneft” on August 4 stopped pumping Russian oil through the southern branch of the oil pipeline system in the direction of Hungary, the Czech Republic. Republic and Slovakia”, due to the impossibility of the Russian side to transfer the amounts due to the Ukrainian company in exchange for the transit of oil in the light of the conditions caused by the imposition of sanctions against Moscow by the West.

Earlier, a representative of the Slovak refinery Sloveft in Bratislava said that “one of the European banks, which initially suspended the process of paying for oil supplies, has revised its decision and accepted the documents for payment,” adding that “the Czech Republic expects to resume oil supplies. Oil will pass through the southern branch of the Druzhba pipeline in a day or two.”

Transneft announced that it had notified all parties of the situation and was working on alternative payment options.
