Tunisian President Kais Syed ratified the new constitution of Tunisia, the “Constitution of July 25, 2022”, and authorized its publication, considering this event “a historic day when constitutional legitimacy, popular and revolutionary legitimacy coincide.”

He indicated in a televised address to the people that “with the adoption of the new constitution of the republic, the final results of which were approved on Tuesday evening by the Supreme Independent Electoral Commission after consideration of judicial appeals, the course of the Revolution and history in Tunisia were corrected.” He said that in the near future “a new law on elections will be developed and a Constitutional Court will be established in order to preserve the constitutional supremacy and protect rights and freedoms in particular.”

Syed praised the “efforts that accompanied the organization of the 25 July constitutional referendum”, noting that Tunisians “did not hesitate to fulfill their electoral duty to correct the course of history”, stressing that “many failed to fulfill their electoral duty”. in Tunisia and abroad for several reasons.”
