European Union Commissioner for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell said Iran’s response to the European Union’s nuclear deal proposal was reasonable.
Earlier, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said that “Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahyan discussed the progress of negotiations on the nuclear program with European Union Foreign Minister Josep Borrell” in Vienna.
Abdullahian noted that “our negotiating team in Vienna was determined to reach an agreement and presented ideas for resolving outstanding issues”, noting that “the final agreement should guarantee the rights and interests of the Iranian people, as well as remove sanctions effectively and permanently,” stating: “We hope to pave the way for the rights and interests of the Iranian people. To reach an agreement, unconstructive positions on the part of Washington must be avoided.”
For his part, Borrell stressed: “Continue efforts to converge views to achieve a positive and good result for all parties.”
